The Chaser Eraser Contest Is Only Available To Chase Drivers!
How To Play:
The object of the contest is to pick the highest finishing chase driver for each race.
For the first 5 races of the Chase, you will choose 2 Chase drivers. The highest finishing driver will give you points for their finishing position. If they win the race, they will get 43 points. The points will go down for there, with last place receiving just one point. There are no points for leading laps. The other driver won't give you any points and will be eliminated. You can use a driver for the entire Chase until that driver is eliminated.
For the final 5 races of the Chase, you will choose 3 Chase drivers. The highest finishing driver will give you points for their finishing position and the 2 lowest drivers will be eliminated.
You can continue to play this game even if you are eliminated from the Chase at any point.
If a member picks a driver that has already been eliminated during the Chase for them, they will receive 0 points for that week. Eliminated drivers for each member are displayed on this page. The lowest scoring driver or drivers will be recorded as an eliminated driver. If they choose two drivers that have been eliminated, the highest driver in the NASCAR standings that they have not yet picked will be eliminated.
Each player must pick 2 drivers in the first half and 3 in the 2nd half. If they don't choose enough... the highest driver or drivers currently in the Cup standings prior to that race will be unavailable to them for the rest of the Chase. If a player picks more than the allotted amount of drivers that week, only the highest driver or drivers in the standings will be used.
If a member misses three weeks of not submitting picks, they will be removed from the Chaser Eraser.
The winner of the contest will receive a special award on their page, receive a free year in the Cup Series and be offered a spot to play in the LROC Series the following season. Note: The winner of this contest can only be invited to LROC if there still is an open spot. If the LROC champion is a Lucky Dog Racing driver and they did not qualify for next season by any other means, they would get the spot.
Additional Note: The winner of this contest will receive a free year in Cup but Xfinity and Truck leagues cost additional fees if you are playing in them next year.
Jessy Turgeon holds on to win the 2016 Chaser Eraser
We had a close battle coming into the final race of the season at Homestead. Jessy Turgeon had just a one point lead over Stephen DiCaprio so he was hoping to keep him behind for one more week. Luckily for Jessy that's what happened. Jessy's highest pick turned out to be Kevin Harvick for the 2nd week in a row to give him 41 points. Stephen's highest pick was Kyle Busch who scored 39 points. So Jessy was able to finish the season 3 points ahead of Stephen and deny him a second championship in a row. Last year Stephen won nearly everything, this year he was in contention for a few titles but busted out all around.
Jessy wins his first Chaser Eraser title and ends up scoring the same amount of points that Stephen did last year. He'll now get a free year in the league and another award on his page. He'll also be offered a spot on the 2017 LROC team too.
Stephen DiCaprio finishes in 2nd while right behind him is Ryan Smith in 3rd. Ryan made it interesting in the closing weeks. He picked the race winner Jimmie Johnson to score 43 points and closed within one point of Stephen. Ryan had actually picked the last four race winners in a row.
Harry Jeffery finishes in 4th place and Jose Rodriguez rounds out the top 5 in 5th. Jose picked Johnson and Harry picked Kyle Larson who finished in 2nd place. Nobody's highest driver finished outside the top 6 in the final week.
Congrats to Jessy for the win, hopefully he'll make the Chase again next year to defend his title.
